The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art was established in 1927 as the legacy of Mable and John Ringling. The museum's art collection consists of more than 10,000 objects that include paintings, sculpture, drawings, prints, photographs and decorative arts. Their most celebrated items are 16th to 20th century European paintings by Diego Velázquez, Paolo Veronese and many others. The jewels of the collection are numerous masterworks of Peter Paul Rubens,
