Program Description

Meet Dr. Fred H. Albee and his wife, Louella Albee: A dynamic duo:

What did an orthopedic surgeon, Father of Nokomis, and friend of John Nolen have to do with Venice, FL?  Our speaker, from the Venice Area Historical Society, will address these aspects of who Dr. Albee was and his role in the development of the Venice area. The contributions of the doctor’s wife, Louella Albee will also be discussed by our speaker, Tom Bowers in this updated talk about this Centennial power couple.

Tom Bowers is a former educator from Indiana and now permanent Venice, FL resident.  He has been an active participant in VAHS, with involvement in the Historic Venice Train Depot as a docent, Speakers Bureau, Education Committee (Chair) and former Board of Directors member.
